ten days of personal style starts tomorrow
listening to andrew garcia singing sunday morning
working on my timeline for davey♥s first range
wondering if love really is just around the corner
bonjour mes cheries!
so after what seems like an eternity i am back in action! april promises to be a busy month, with davey♥ being in it's final stages my stress levels have sky-rocketed, but i am alive i assure you! architecture work hits the forefront full swing mid-april and i am nothing but scared of being back in it. fingers crossed it goes well! ALL of it! my other commitments too are piling on the pressure, the madressah i teach at and am on the committee for are having their fundraiser in may, and meetings every week mean that work HAS to be done. my family come first though, and there's loads happening there too!
i amworking on making at least two posts a week on this blog though, and a photo every day for the next ten days will inspire me, not only to wittily blog, but to also wake up an hour earlier to put an outfit together!
with all my love♥

doing the durban thing on a public holiday
listening to billionaire by travis mccoy and bruno mars
waiting to go the chemist(pharmacy...what's the difference?)

the best thing to do in sunny, humid durban on a public holiday is hitthe beach! and that's exactly what i did with some beautiful friends. relaxing on the sand, facing the chilly water, sing-a-longs-laughs and plenty love was the order of the day.i hope my smiling, wayfarer framed face keeps you company until my next post!
ciao♥

living life for my being
listening to lover you should have come over by jamie cullum
looking out across my panoramic view of durban
missing games nights.where are you?
you'll be pleased to know that i have found a balance between the crazy cleanse i (tried) to put myself through, and my love for baked goods. this balance includes green mint tea first thing in the morning, a lovely breakfast of eggs and toast and grilled tomato, oh how i love you breakfast!, water with lemon and honey at random times, salad lunches, and well rounded dinner plates - with my own add-ons to my family's normal dinner, making sure i have something hot, something cold, something colourful, and something crunchy. and of course dessert when i can, although i must be honest and say most days i'm full enough after my daily water intake and those beautiful breakfasts (i love you breakfast...again).
the finding of balance has not stopped at my eating habits though, i am pacing myself through the day, cooler and more put together. i babysit my little nephew every alternate day, prepare myself for office work at seedat and seedat architects as of april, and oh, did i mention work on davey♥? it's brought me so much satisfaction...and makes me think of a little stevie wonder song that sings, "...i'm more than happy, i'm satisfied..." now what else could i possibly need?
from the start of this year, i have been spending my saturday mornings teaching young underprivileged girls at an islamic school, and to be totally honest, i enjoy it so much, it fills my day, makes me feel as though i've done something worthwhile for another human being. and that's part of my "living life for my being" plan. my new approach has me honest, thankful, and determined to stay in this place.
somewhereup there i mentioned davey♥...and i owe it to you all to shed some light. davey♥ started off as a jewellery house, but over the past few weeks, while i've been busy doing samples of the wrap bracelets and necklaces, it's evolved into something wonderful! davey♥ now houses jewellery, belts, bags, and a range of darling dresses for the launch in april!
and speaking of the launch (with fingers crossed that everything runs smoothly), i have booked the pretty, intimate,st.clements garden cafe for a weekend evening to launch davey♥, share some cuppin♥s and snacks and drinks with family and good friends...who will hopefully become good buyers!
here are some sneak peek photos of what toexpect from davey♥ jewellery...i promise to post more soon!

adieu mes cheries!

s'il vous plaƮt et merci
listening to yellow by coldplay
finding it increasingly difficult NOT to get ahead of myself with the excitement for davey♥
considering cheese fries for lunch despite my "cleanse" talk of a fortnight passed
in light of my new jewellery line, i have been spending alot more time than usual scanning blogs and the streets for inspiration. this inspiration resulted in me reworking one of the ranges for davey♥, and i say that with a happy heart, because i am now far happier with it and the way it gels with the rest of the pieces. i never knew that my second sabbatical would result in anopther business venture, but i couldn't be happier. next week is supply shopping(thank you end of the month!)and i am so thrilled to get dying yarns and buying trimmings and spending hours with my grandmother's thimble (my humble inheritance) and a full worktable in front of me. as i get the sample pieces done and dusted, i will post item photos for you all to get an ideaof what to expect from the photo shoot. which is another thing i need to plan...oh durban skies grace me with beautiful outdoor light for my garden and lunch photoshoot at st.clements nursery and outdoor cafe!
after all that typing i'm now listening to fat freddy's drop
i had promised some of my personal style...but with my camera battery being dead...and me forgetting to sort it out, i am going to push my "personal style week posted" by a week, and instead offer you some street chic images. do enjoy!

and finally, i love these burberry shoes.

so, til next time then (my cheese fries are a-calling!)
ciao miei belle!

i ♥ alexa chung
listening to chillin' by wale and lady gaga
thinking of what to wear with my high waisted cheap monday jeans

if you've seen this blue-eyed girl's killer personal style, you'd probably dedicate an entire post to her as well. gracing the cover of vogue's march 2010 edition, alexa was voted in vogue's 20 best dressed for 2009. with her gorgeous features and quirky dress sense it's no wonder why she's fashion's favourite girl.

the brit born mtv star has become a style sensation with her unique ensembles...and as seen in NYLON's fashion feature, alexa showed madewell by alexa chung at fashion week in new york. need more reason to love her?

with jewellery designs in mind, i have to dash off and put pen to paper before i forget these!
adieu mes cheries

i promised you more
listening to an unknown, but catchy song on an advert
feeling nostalgic
earlier i promised to spill the beans on what's new...so let me introduce you all to the railroad jean. what is the railroad jean you ask? they're the sort of casual, i jus rolled out of bed but still look amazing type of denim that plans on sticking to this season's hot list.
the railroad jean is based on utility pants from the 20's and 30's, has a slouchy, pleated front, with cropped ankles, room at the thighs, and has a fine pinstripe or ridge woven into the fabric.

this one's tricky, and i'm yet to try them out myself...but am thinking of pairing a light wash railroad, with a peach gap t shirt ( to match the gap brand pleated railroad jeans above), and some pumps...will keep you posted.

**thank you shop gap online for the image**
